Altmire, House Pass Bills to Help Americans Facing Foreclosure

(May 8, 2008)

U.S. Congressman Jason Altmire (PA-04) today voted for two landmark housing bills that will help Americans being hit hard by the credit and housing crisis. The American Housing Rescue and Foreclosure Prevention Act (H.R. 3221) will help hard working American families in danger of losing their homes refinance into more affordable, government-insured mortgages. This bill also gives first time homebuyers a refundable tax credit of up to $7,500 to spur home buying and stabilize the housing market. …more
