(Washington, DC) — U.S. Congressman Jason Altmire (PA-4) today made the following statement: “I welcome the president’s decision to step forward and share his ideas about how the Administration and Congress can work together to provide an economic stimulus to avert a recession. “Pennsylvania’s families continue to struggle with rising health care costs, sky-high gas prices, and stagnant wages. Our small business owners face uncertainty with fluctuating energy prices and a weak dollar. “We need to take action to alleviate the economic squeeze on Americans, and I hope we can soon reach agreement on a package that delivers targeted relief to the middle class and small businesses quickly.” # # # |
